The earbuds are equipped with a 10 mm dynamic driver that provides a powerful and defined sound. Thanks to the integrated Bass Boost technology, the Buds Z deliver a punchy bass that especially comes to life with bass-heavy music. For owners of selected OnePlus smartphones, additional audio enhancements like Dolby Atmos are available, which enable an immersive listening experience with dynamic 3D stereo.

Design and Daily Usability

Weighing just 4.35 grams per earbud, the Buds Z are barely noticeable and are ideal for daily use and sports activities. The IP55 rating provides protection against dust and water, so they can be used safely during sweaty workouts or in light rain. The surface of the earbuds features a hydrophobic nano-coating that repels water. The charging case is compact and has a glossy finish.

Connectivity and Controls

The OnePlus Buds Z use Bluetooth 5.0 for a stable connection. The automatic wearing detection feature pauses playback when an earbud is removed from the ear and resumes it as soon as it is put back in. Control is handled via a touch-sensitive area on the stems of the earbuds. By default, a double-tap on one of the buds is pre-set to skip to the next track. The HeyMelody App can be used to customize the controls and update the firmware.
