The Pro Display XDR is a groundbreaking innovation from Apple. It’s the first monitor of its kind to offer the image quality of an expensive reference monitor in a more attainable format for professional users. The Extreme Dynamic Range (XDR) technology enables the display of HDR content with a sustained brightness of 1000 nits and a peak brightness of 1600 nits, which is essential for precise color grading and editing HDR video. The stunning 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio is achieved through a unique mini-LED backlight system that can dim in thousands of zones to produce true blacks and bright highlights.

Precision and Flexibility

Professional users require not only high resolution but, above all, absolute color accuracy. The Pro Display XDR is factory-calibrated and offers several reference modes that align with common industry standards. The surface can be ordered with either standard glass or the innovative nanotexture glass. The latter reduces reflections through a special nanometer-level etching on the surface without affecting image quality or contrast. Connectivity is also simple and efficient, thanks to a single Thunderbolt 3 port that supplies both data and power to the display.

Design and Cooling

The design of the Pro Display XDR is both functional and aesthetic. The back of the monitor features a unique lattice pattern made from aluminum that not only gives it a striking appearance but also serves as a massive heatsink. This passive cooling system allows the monitor to maintain its extremely high brightness over extended periods without overheating. The display is designed to be used with the separately sold Pro Stand or a VESA adapter, giving the user complete flexibility in setting up their workspace.
