This SSD combines two distinct types of storage on a single drive: a larger, cost-effective QLC-NAND flash component and a smaller, extremely fast Optane memory component. While the QLC-NAND serves as the primary storage for larger files, the 32GB Optane memory acts as an intelligent cache. It learns user behavior and stores frequently accessed data and applications to dramatically speed up access. This technology, managed by Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST), works seamlessly in the background without user intervention.

The Optane Memory H20 is primarily aimed at users who prioritize fast system responsiveness, especially when launching applications or loading system files. Furthermore, the H20 is only compatible with systems equipped with Intel 11th Gen Core processors and Intel 500 series chipsets or newer, which feature a specialized M.2 slot that supports the bifurcation of PCIe lanes.
